Police say Goshen man arrested after gun fired

GOSHEN — A Goshen man was arrested Saturday on four charges connected to the allegation he fired a handgun during an argument.

Police reported Enrique Antonio Olvera, 22, of 1117 West Ave., Goshen, was allegedly involved in a fight at 500 E. Douglas St., in Goshen and that Olvera displayed a gun and fired it.

The incident happened early Saturday afternoon and he was apprehended a short time later at the corner of Purl and Emerson streets near the Goshen Public Library.

There were no injuries as a result of the firearm being discharged, according to information provided by Goshen police.

Olvera is being held without bond at the Elkhart County Jail on charges of pointing a firearm, a class D felony; criminal recklessness, a class C felony; criminal recklessness, a Class D felony; and possessing a concealed handgun without a license.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
