RESULTS: Annual 4-H Fair llivestock auction nets $931,871

GOSHEN — The 2012 4-H Livestock Auction raised $931,871 Friday at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. That’s the third best in 18 years, according to information released late Friday by the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service of Elkhart County. Last year was a record-setter for the auction with $964,127.20, and the second-best sale was $941,983 in 2007.

There was a special sale this year: RV Suppliers of Elkhart County purchased a kiss from Fair Queen Stephanie Yoder for $1,000. The queen kissed a steer owned by Hillary Lechlitner. The proceeds were donated toward the Elkhart County 4-H Fair land purchase.
