MIDDLEBURY —
Two drivers were hurt in a head-on crash at 3:24 p.m. Monday at Ind. 13, south of Middlebury and just north of Ind. 4.
According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Harley Barkdull, 27, Middlebury, was driving a 1994 Ford Escort north on Ind. 13 when his car went left of the centerline.
The Ford collided head-on with an oncoming 2000 Buick Park Avenue driven by Barbara Mast, 64, Goshen.
Barkdull had a cut on his chin and fractured ankles.
Mast complained of chest and back pain and had cuts to her knees.
Both drivers were taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment.
Damage was listed as extensive. The state highway was closed about two hours during the crash investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
