State Sen. Ryan Mishler, R-Bremen, recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they served as Senate pages. Those students include:
• Carrie Avery, daughter of Wakarusa residents Fred and Cheryl Avery. She is a sophomore at NorthWood High School.
• Andrew Dove, son of Milford residents Andy Villalovos and Suzie Dove. He is a senior at Wawasee High School.
• Camille Kerlin, daughter of Warsaw residents Rick and Diane Kerlin. She is a freshman at Warsaw Community High School.
• Elizabeth and Rachel Rozow, daughters of Milford residents Steve and Heidi Rozow. Elizabeth is an eighth-grade student at Wawasee Middle School, and Rachel is a ninth-grade student at Wawasee High School.
Each legislative session, students in grades six through 12 are invited to serve as legislative pages.
Mishler said the opportunity helps educate young Hoosiers about state government.
Pages tour the Statehouse, view session from the Senate chamber, meet senators and assist staff.
