GOSHEN —
The Boys & Girls Club of Goshen held its annual Celebration of Champions event recently, honoring Club members of all ages. Awards ranged from celebrating good choices, behavior and acts of community service to athletics and education.
The highest honors, the 2012 Youth of the Year awards, were given toAlex Jackson, middle school; Calista Swartzendruber, first and second grade; Dakotah Poindexter, third through fifth grade; and Kayla Buckmaster, high school.
Seniors

Those seniorsare Kayla Buckmaster, 11-year member; Liz Palos, four-year member Jordan Adkins, 11-year member; Jared Nelson, four-year member; Gunner Fugate, seven-year member and DQ Roby, six-year member.

Handle poison hemlock carefully
Poison hemlock is a weed that seemed to burst onto the scene last year during the drought.
In the past, it could be found in waste areas like along railroad tracks and ditches, but in 2012, poison hemlock seemed to be everywhere, including backyards, gardens, fields, even along the river at Bonneyville Mill Park. -
