Entertainment resume for Goshen College’s Sauder Concert Hall

GOSHEN — Big-name acts that have performed in the Sauder Concert Hall the past five years:



2007

• Gospel singer and songwriter Joann Rosario

2008

• Sones de México, an ensemble of Mexican folk musicians and educators from Chicago

• The Toledo Symphony and Grammy award-winning conductor Vance George



2009

• Former Nickel Creek band member Chris Thile with his band the Punch Brothers

• Peggy Fleming, a celebrated athlete and having won a gold medal in figure skating at the 1968 Winter Olympics, spoke about being a cancer survivor

• Irish music Grammy winners The Chieftains

2010

• The African Children’s Choir

• BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, a Cajun band

2011

• Playwright, actor and professor Anna Deavere Smith

• The Euclid String Quartet, a chamber ensemble

2012

• Austin Wulliman is part of the Chicago-based ensemble Spektral Quartet and the group presented a program titled “IN/EX-trovert”

• The all-female band Cherish the Ladies performed traditional Irish-American folk music

• Seraphic Fire, an ensemble of singers

• Birdland Big Band, led by Tommy Igoe

• Del McCoury Band

2013

• Emmylou Harris, the 12-time Grammy Award winner

Coming Up

• March 8 — Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. The Grammy Award-winning LAGQ is comprised of four accomplished guitarists. With programs ranging from Bach to bluegrass, they consistently play to sold-out houses worldwide. For this show, Firesign Theater veteran and Goshen native, actor Philip Proctor, will join the quartet in their “Don Quixote” collaboration, as they tell the journey of the literary Spanish knight through story and music.

• March 23 — The Stepcrew. This show brings together three styles of dance forms — Irish step dance, Ottawa Valley step dance and tap.

• April 23 — Lea Salong, a Tony Award-winning singer and actress, most recognized for her roles as Kim in “Miss Saigon,” as Eponine in “Les Misérables” and as the singing voice of two official Disney princesses: Jasmine in “Aladdin” and Fa Mulan in “Mulan.”
