GOSHEN —
Goshen police began investigating a drive-by shooting in Twin Pines Mobile Home Park Friday afternoon when suspects shot bullets into two homes there at 3:33 p.m.
Police said two homes appeared to have been struck by bullets. No one was hurt.
Residents said a tan Oldsmobile van drove through the 1800 block of April Lane and a suspect shot three bullets at the home at 1805 April Lane.
The resident, Jose Contreras and his brother-in-law, Robert Rocha, were outside the home and Jose’s wife, Cynthia, was inside at the time, according to Pedro Fernandez, who lives at 1807 April.
“I heard three shots and ran outside,” said Nathaniel Hernandez, who also lives at 1807. “There were little kids outside playing. They obviously did not care about endangering them.”
Hernandez said the gunshots were very loud. He estimated the handgun used was a .45 caliber or 9 mm. He said the shooter placed a blue bandana over the gun, presumably to capture the spent bullet shells as they were ejected.
Fernandez said he is familiar with the Oldsmobile van and its owner.
“Everybody knows who did it,” said Fernandez Friday at his home. He said he gave a suspect’s name to police. He said this shooting is related to another one Jan. 25 in Twin Pines and a third incident at Arbor Ridge before that.
Other witnesses and neighbors were questioned immediately by Goshen detectives.
