GOSHEN — Ten Thousand Villages of Goshen is celebrating its 35-year annivesary with a celebration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

A brief program at 4 p.m. will include announcement of the winning silent auction bid for a quilt to benefit Marketplace Handwork of India, a fair trade women’s artisan group. Bidding opened on Dec. 26 and continues through 4 p.m. Saturday.

The global fair trade movement began with the founding of Ten Thousand Villages more than 65 years ago through the work of Edna Ruth Byler and Mennonite Central Committee. Ten Thousand Villages has established a sustainable market for artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from 38 countries across the globe.
