Mahala Miller, Nappanee’s 2012 Apple Festival Queen, was crowned the 2013 Miss Indiana State Festival (ISFA) Queen Saturday evening, Nov. 10, in Indianapolis.
The ISFA Scholarship Pageant is an annual event that takes place during the ISFA Fall Convention held Nov. 9-11 at the Wyndham Indianapolis West Hotel.
Contestants are from festivals that are current ISFA members and come from around the state of Indiana. Contestant judging is based on four phases: Interview with Panel Judges, Festival Spirit Competition, Evening Gown Competition and On Stage Questions.
Miller won the local contest in September during Nappanee’s 37th Annual Apple Festival. She received a $1,000 scholarship along the opportunity to compete on the state level.
Mahala, the daughter of Gerald and Wanda Miller, is a sophomore at Bethel College. She also received another $1,000 scholarship from the state contest.
