GOSHEN —
A weekend of services focusing on world hunger will be held Nov. 9 to 11 at Waterford Mennonite Church, located at Ind. 15 and C.R. 40 south of Goshen. The public is invited to attend these services.
Nov. 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., Phillip Kaufmann will present a musical program adapted from Clarence Jordan’s story of Jesus set in the American South, “The Cotton Patch Gospel.” Admission at the door will be $10 for adults, with children 12 and younger admitted free. All proceeds from tickets and offerings will support Goshen’s The Window, Mennonite Central Committee and Why Hunger?
In the two Sunday (Nov. 10) morning services at 8 and 10:45, Zenebe Abebe, executive director of MCC Great Lakes, will speak on how the churches in the community address the problem of hunger in the community and world.
During the nurture hour at 9:30, Eldon Stoltzfus of Waterford Mennonite Church will report on his recent MCC learning tour to Guatemala, where he saw firsthand food sustainability projects MCC supports in cooperation with the Foods Resource Bank.
The special mission offering that morning will benefit equally two organizations: Goshen Ministerial Association’s emergency fund and the Foods Resource Bank.
