As summer winds down, so too do the usual summer activities that fill the day.
For groups of local churches, it means the end of vacation Bible school season.
Various churches held their VBS this week, including the Bristol Community Vacation Bible School and the downtown Goshen church group. Jillian Shively, director of the downtown Goshen VBS said this was the ninth year for the program, which is a combined effort of First Presbyterian Church, First English Lutheran and Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
The theme for the VBS was “Operation Overboard,” an underwater theme. The event was hosted at First Presbyterian Church.
The Bristol Community Vacation Bible School is the efforts of Betania Iglesia Cristiana Missionary, Bristol Missionary Church, Bristol United Methodist Church, St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church and Tri Lakes Community Church. The event was hosted at Bristol United Methodist Church and the theme was “Sky.”
The Bristol Community VBS had children from 33 separate churches in attendance and 349 children registered.
