Fire department soliciting funds

MILFORD, Ind. — Members of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department are asking for donations from residents to purchase replacement air tanks for their self-contained breathing apparatus tanks — required gear for every firefighter within 50 feet of a fire. Each replacement bottle costs $800.

The two-week fund raiser has a goal to raise $12,000 to cover the total cost of this equipment.

Donations can be mailed to the department at P.O. Box 516, Milford, IN 46542. As a thank you, each family making a contribution of $30 or more will receive a free 8-by-10-inch family portrait to be taken in early April.

For more information, contact Fire Chief Troy Haines at 658-4141.
