ALBION, Ind. — A wooden bridge in rural Noble County was damaged in a fire Tuesday night that was blamed on a reaction at a methamphetamine lab.
The Noble County Sheriff’s Department was called to a bridge on fire at C.R. 175 North, between C.R. 500 East and C.R. 600 East, at 9:30 p.m. by CSX Railroad workers.
Avilla and Albion fire departments went to the blaze and extinguished it.
Officials confirmed that the fire was started by a “one-pot meth lab” and called Indiana State Police to help clean it up.
County highway officials closed a section of C.R. 175 North until an engineer inspects the bridge for safety.
The incident is under investigation.
