SHIPSHEWANA —
A Shipshewana fifth-grader won Westview Elementary School’s spelling bee Monday, Jan. 14.
Lindsay Stoltzfus, daughter of Rich and Heidi Stoltzfus, won on the words “consistency” and “efficient.”
Lindsay will advance to the LaGrange County spelling bee, which is set for 4:15 p.m. Jan. 30 at Westview Junior-Senior High School’s auditorium.
The spelling bee competition began in November as fifth- and sixth-graders participated in a preliminary round written test. Thirty-four students qualified to advance to the spelling bee.
The runner up was Kendra Hochstetler, daughter of Myron and Tressie Hochstetler of Shipshewana. Kendra is a sixth-grader.
