Parents and students are planning fund-raising activities for a Prairieview Elementary School teacher who is teaching and caring for her young son while fighting breast cancer.
Students in Corrie Timmons third-grade class are making bracelets that will be sold at a scrap booking fund raiser Dec. 12 at Grace Community Church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event was planned to help pay for Timmons’ medical bills, and she has pledged to donate some of the money to cancer research as well.
The cost to attend the scrap booking event is $20, which includes lunch.
Drawings for prizes will also take place.
Creative Memories consultant, Robina Sommers, who is also a Prairieview teacher, will be selling products with all profits going to the cause.
Prairieview parent Jamie Pena will be selling the student-made bracelets for $1.
People who do not wish to scrapbook are welcome to stop by any time during the day to shop for products or bracelets.
Those interested in scrap booking should call Miranda Beverly-Gill at 533-6131.
