The newly created Fairfield Falcon “Nothing But Net” booster club was organized to support and promote the Fairfield boys basketball program by supplementing and assisting the athletic department.
Representatives of the club for 2009-2010 are: chairman, Mark Beer; vice-chairman, Jerrold Kauffman; secretary, Anne Brown; and treasurer Dustin Lockwood.
To become a club member and support the team, contributions may be mailed to: FHS Falcons “Nothing But Net” Club, 67530 U.S. 33, Goshen, IN 46526. Contributions will fund awards as well as provide quality facilities and equipment for the student athletes.

School news
Thanksgiving vacation is Nov. 26-27. The last day of school before Christmas break is Dec. 18, which is also the last day of the first semester. School will resume Jan. 4 and report cards will be sent home with students Jan. 8.
New Paris Elementary: The parent-teacher organization is taking orders for flavored popcorn starting Friday through Dec.1. Orders will be received in time for Christmas giving.
The sixth-grade boys basketball team will travel to Milford for a game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Benton Elementary School: The sixth-grade boys basketball team will host Westview today at 4:30 p.m. There is a $2 admission fee for everyone ages 19 to 64. All others will be admitted free.
Donations are being accepted for the annual “Christmas Store” sale that allows students to choose a donated gift item for just 25 cents. Donated items may be sent or brought to the school marked “Christmas Store.”
The annual Christmas program, “Christmas Around the World,” featuring students in grades one through three will be presented Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the school gym.
Food pantry
Donations continue to be accepted for the Fairfield Food Pantry, as it is especially busy during the holiday season.
Items always needed are soups, spaghetti and sauce, boxed dinners, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, canned meats, pancake mix and syrup, cake mixes, frosting and canned fruits and vegetables.
There is always a need for personal care items such as shampoo, bath soap, toothpaste and deodorant, as well as dish and laundry detergent.

60 Plus Seniors
Members of the 60 Plus senior citizens group will meet for a social time and carry-in dinner Friday at noon at the First Brethren Church.
The Rev. Ted Schowengerdt of the First Brethren Church will lead the devotions.

A community Thanksgiving service will take place at the Clinton Frame Church Sunday at 6 p.m.
First Brethren Church: A bazaar and cookie walk will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Grace United Methodist Church: New and gently used gift items for children, teens and adults are being collected through Dec. 6.
