LIGONIER, Ind — Special holiday activities will begin with a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ligonier fire station. Breakfast is free, donations will be accepted. At 9, Santa is due to arrive at the fire station, with gift bags for the children who visit.
A reindeer is scheduled to visit the library grounds during the morning, and Christmas carollers will sing in the downtown area during the day. A sleigh leaving from Gazebo Park will offer rides between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., at a cost of $3 for adults and $1 for kids. Proceeds will benefit the Ligonier Visitors Center.
The Chamber of Commerce window decorating contest will be judged Saturday, with prizes for the best decorations. Many local businesses have offered up their storefronts and windows to be decorated in the Christmas spirit. To top off the day, the Ligonier Historical Society is hosting a special Christmas display Saturday at the city’s historical museum on Main Street. Also this year, a residential Christmas decorating contest is being hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
