GOSHEN — Six men, each with a 3-pound burger and a plate of fries in front of them, chowed down for a good cause Wednesday.
First to finish the contest, sponsored by Dandino’s Supper Club, was Paul Riccio of Courtyard Healthcare.
Riccio’s burger had to be bunless because he is allergic to gluten — but his competitors evened up the playing field. They made sure Dandino’s staffers gave him an extra helping of french fries.
Those competing included Courtyard Healthcare employees Travis Vander Reyden, Brian Cook, Greg Morris and Riccio; Grandview Pharmacy employee Will Conoley and Goshen Police officer Mark Huser.
The men drew which charity or orangization they would raise money for if they won the eating challenge.
Riccio drew The Salvation Army and it will receive $100 from Dandino’s with the contestants matching the amount, according to Shanna Troyer, Dandino’s manager.
