St. John’s sending teacher on pilgrimage to Italy

GOSHEN — Sister Colleen Bauer of St. John the Evangelist Church was surprised at a recent Mass with a gift of a pilgrimage trip to Italy in honor of her 40 years of service as a religious sister and 25 years as a teacher at St. John the Evangelist Elementary School.

Members of Sister Colleen’s family attended the Mass to see her receive her honor and she was presented with a “boarding pass” by the students at St. John’s. The pilgrimage trip to Italy will take place in the spring and be escorted by the parish priest, theRev. Anthony Steinacker.

The gift was made possible by donations from individuals in the newly formed St. John’s School Alumni Association.
