The Salvation Army celebrates dedication

The Salvation Army in Goshen celebrated service by and to the community. The opportunity came when The Salvation Army in Goshen and southern Elkhart County held its first Celebration Dinner May 17.

Longtime Salvation Army Advisory Board members Wanda Lung and Gene Blough were recognized for their service and presented with Membership Emeritus certificates.

Membership emeritus is The Salvation Army’s way recognizing longstanding service, but due to health reasons active participation is not possible.

Yollette Young celebrated how The Salvation Army was able to help in her life as she faces prolonged illness in her son’s life.

Vince Turner, the featured speaker of the evening, celebrated how what seems like life’s mistakes can turn out to be the most unexpected, yet important, things in one’s life.
