MIDDLEBURY —
A huge offensive night kept Concord in the hunt for a Northern Lakes Conference title.
Concord scored touchdowns on its first four possessions in both halves, as the Minutemen romped to a 56-28 win over Northridge Friday. The Minutemen improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the NLC with the win, and it set up a huge season finale at Warsaw next Friday.
“We needed to do that. We needed to show up and play hard,” said Concord coach Tim Dawson.
Concord got a monster night from quarterback Trevor Wilmore. The junior ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns, and in the rain and wind, completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 259 yards. Eastern Michigan-bound running back DuWhan Alford added 86 yards rushing and three touchdowns of his own. “Trevor played well, especially in these conditions, and the offensive line played with consistency,” Dawson added. “We have kids who can catch it, and our receivers made plays.”
Northridge had two costly fumbles in the first quarter that Concord converted into scores, and the Raiders spotted the Minutemen a 28-0 lead before the Raiders got untracked. Northridge closed the first half with a Travis Schlabach 1-yard run to close within 28-6 at halftime, but Wilmore opened the second half with a 48-yard touchdown run on an option keeper to push the Concord lead to 35-6.
Northridge quarterback Tanner Love connected with Jailyn Rolle on a 48-yard strike to close the margin to 35-13, but Concord again had more answers.

Lakeland rushed for 203 yards as Joey Fuller gained 102 on 22 carries and Devin Dimos 77 on 16. Dimos scored two touchdowns and Fuller one. Logan Owens returned a fumble for a TD and Kiel Hunter scored on a 1-yard run.
