The ideal way to follow the best week of the season in predicting winners of local high school boys basketball games is by having an even better one.
The previous week’s 14-2 mark (87.5 percent) was topped by a 16-2 record (88.9) last week.
Missed calls were West Noble over Fairfield and Bethany Christian over Blackhawk.
The season-to-date mark is 112-39 (74.2).
Friday
Plymouth at Goshen — The Plymouth Pilgrims are in a battle for second place in the Northern Lakes Conference standings. Concord stands out among common opponents. Goshen lost to the Minutemen 56-33 while Plymouth was a 50-47 winner. Plymouth.
Bethany at Elkhart Christian — This is a rematch of the championship game of the Bethany Holiday Tourney back in December, which Bethany won 37-28. Bethany.
West Noble at Westview — The Westview Warriors have displayed their grit by winning seven straight. Juniors Dominique Neely and Seth Wagler have picked up their scoring for the Warriors. Westview.
Lakeland at Churubusco — Churubusco has won seven of its last nine, including a 122-118 overtime shootout with Leo. Lakeland has lost two of its last four, but the Lakers are still in second place in the Northeast Corner Conference standings. Lakeland.
Warsaw at Memorial — Warsaw is the only NLC unbeaten and could clinch at least a share of the crown. Memorial’s conference loss was to Wawasee (88-71). Warsaw owns a 97-82 win over the Warriors. Warsaw.
Bremen at Jimtown — New Prairie is among common foes. Jimtown defeated New Prairie 65-54 while Bremen lost 58-51. Jimtown.
Central at Penn — Penn had it’s eight-game winning streak snapped by Riley (62-55). Penn has won three straight at home since a 49-41 loss to Carmel. Penn.
Saturday
NorthWood at Concord — Concord has good inside and outside scoring options highlighted by 6-8 sophomore Jason Spriggs who has been in double figures in four of his last six games and 5-10 senior Larone Smith who is coming off a career-high 27 points in the Wawasee contest. Concord.
Bremen at Fairfield — Fairfield won a 56-54 thriller last season and the Falcons maintain a 6-4 lead in the series. Fairfield.
Wawasee at Northridge — Five of Northridge’s losses have been by less than 10 points. Wawasee has won three of its last five. NorthWood is a common opponent. Northridge lost 45-38 in overtime and Wawasee won 83-70. Wawasee.
