Goshen soccer boys trim Wawasee Warriors

The Goshen Redskins defeated the Wawasee Warriors, 3-1, in a Northern Lakes Conference boys soccer matchup Tuesday at GHS.

Jake Heiliger scored in the 12th minute for the Redskins assisted by Vicente Aguilar, Manuel Hernandez in the 15th and Ricardo Alvarez in the 36th, both unassisted. Austin Benzinger scored for Wawasee in the 78th.

Goshen led 10-3 in shots on goal and 4-3 in corner kicks. Jason Lauver and Naciel Rodriguez both made saves for the winners. Drew Johnson had three for the Warriors.

Goshen (6-3, 3-2 NLC) hosts Warsaw and Wawasee (5-6-1, 1-3) entertains Lakeland, both on Thursday.

The Redskins (11-0) were 6-0 JV winners. Jonatan Yanez had three goals, Michael Mayorga two and an assist and Luis Torres a goal.
