BASEBALL: Kauffman, Kelly lead Bruins into 1A sectional finale

Juniors Seth Kauffman and Mikey Kelly both drove in two runs as the Bethany Christian Bruins defeated Elkhart Christian Academy, 7-2, in a semifinal contest of the Class 1A sectional Saturday at Fort Wayne Blackhawk.

Bethany (12-12) meets Fort Wayne Canterbury Monday at 5 p.m. in the championship game.

Canterbury was a 4-3 winner over Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian in the other semifinal.

Columbia City ousts Wawasee in 3A sectional opener



The Wawasee Warriors lost to Columbia City, 8-2, in the opening round of the rain-delayed Class 3A sectional Saturday at Columbia City.

Wawasee finishes 14-11-1.
