Girls tennis: Memorial’s Grubb loses to Marian star

Elkhart Memorial High School senior Katie Grubb was sidelined Saturday in No. 1 tennis singles play at Park Tudor in Indianapolis.

Grubb lost to Mishawaka Marian freshman sensation Caroline Eberhart 6-3, 6-3. Eberhart then topped Abbey Hamstra of Kankakee Valley 6-2, 6-1 and improved her record to 24-0.

Grubb finishes the season 20-3 and her Memorial career with a 90-9 record.

Eberhart advances to state finals next weekend.
