marathon to Hornets
The Goshen Lady Redskins lost to Angola 23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 24-26, 16-14 Monday night at GHS.
Olivia Zepeda had 3 blocks for Goshen; Kaitlyn Troyer 34 digs and Julie Jesse 20; Liz Kleinsmith 9 assists and Jordyn Myers 11; Troyer 2 aces; Cassi Cook 8 kills and Myers 5.
Goshen, 11-18, hosts Bethany tonight.
Angola was the JV winner 25-16, 25-14. Leah Kissinger had 5 assists for the Redskins, Brittney Hussey 13 digs and Makayla Holden 7; Hussey 4 kills and Holden 3.
Angola won the freshman contest 25-18, 25-23. Madison Ortiz had 11 digs and Rain Harrison 10 for GHS; Mallory Payne 2 kills; Ortiz 3 aces and Harrison 2; Tierney Frey 3 assists and Emily Mullet 1.
Clinton Christian
notches 17th victory
Clinton Christian was a 25-12, 25-13, 25-19 varsity winner Monday at home over the Michiana Christian Athletic Club.
Megan Troyer had 6 aces and Nicole Hochstetler 5 for Clinton; Jade Hathaway 10 digs and Natalie Bontrager 7; Kami Miller 1 block; Hochstetler 13 assists and Katlynn Miller 8; Troyer and Bontrager both 9 kills.
Clinton, 17-6, hosts Bethany on Thursday with junior high at 4:30 to be followed by JV and varsity.
Clinton’s JV won 24-25, 25-19, 15-8 with Amber Mullet having 10 aces, Janessa Bontrager 5 digs and 9 assists and Caitie Yoder 5 kills.
Westview rolls in
three over ’Busco
Westview, at home Monday, was a 26-24, 25-18, 25-19 winner over Churubusco.
Jade Oakley had 2 aces and Haley Bontrager 1 for the Warriors; Nicole Jansing 14 kills, Malarie Feller 10, Dru Wheeler and Jade Oakley both 7; Kelsey Carmack 19 assists and Sarah Johns 18; Feller 17 digs, Oakley and Jansing both 14; Jansing and Wheeler both 2 blocks.
Westview’s JV won 25-14, 25-16 with Brooke Miller, Kaylene Kaufman, Carrie Chupp and Candice Chupp the leaders.
Powerful Marian
defeats NorthWood
NorthWood lost to Mishawaka Marian 25-12, 28-26, 25-16 in Nappanee on Monday.
Kaci Heeter had 5 aces for the Panthers; Allison Schrock 16 digs, Heeter 14 and Jess Anglemyer 8; Taryn Johnson and Taylor Olson both 8 kills and Heeter 5; Heeter 16 assists and Maddie Spitaels 7.
Marian was the JV winner 25-8, 25-16.
