The championship trophy stayed at home for a girls soccer sectional at Bethany Christian High School.

The Bruins won the title with an exciting 1-0 victory over the Warsaw Lady Tigers.

Charisse Yoder scored on a corner kick early in the first half for the only goal of the game.

It’s the fifth sectional championship in girls soccer for Bethany, first in four years.

The Bruins, now 11-5-3, advance to a one-game regional at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the Goshen High School field against 17-3 Penn.

The winner advances to a four-team semistate Saturday at Crown Point.
