Fairfield socks Westview in 2A

The Fairfield Lady Falcons were impressive in the opening match of a Class 2A high school girls volleyball sectional Thursday night at Bremen.

The Falcons breezed to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-13 triumph over Westview.

Fairfield, 27-4, meets Jimtown at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in a semifinal following an 11 a.m. opener between Bremen and LaVille. The championship contest follows at 4.

Haley Bechtel, Emily Waits, Katie Gall, Jaime Stack, Kaija Wimmer, Amanda Cross and Riley Troyer were standouts for FHS.

Westview finishes 12-21.
