BRUSHY PRAIRIE — The Fairfield Falcons ran away to a 79-6 Class 2A high school football sectional victory Friday night at Prairie Heights.
That’s a school record single-game total for the Falcons, topping the previous best of 69.
Micah Noble rushed for 127 yards, scoring four touchdowns for FHS.
Chase Pinion threw touchdown passes to Eric Smoker, Derek Vogelzang and Tregg Fisher.
Darin Hochstetler ran for two scores while, near the end of the game, Brett Vail tallied twice and Eldon Burtsfield once. The Falcons also tallied a 2-point safety.
Fairfield coach Bob Miller said,”The kids were really focused and ready to play.
“I told them in practice they have a chance to do something other Fairfield teams haven’t and they need to make the most of their opportunity.”
Fairfield is seeking its first-ever sectional championship in football.
The Falcons will be at home for a sectional semifinal next Friday.
