The Concord Minutemen captured a high school boys cross country semistate championship Saturday in Fort Wayne.
Team scores were Concord 103, Huntington 125, Fort Wayne Dwenger 128, South Bend St. Joseph’s 131, FW Snider 178, Pendleton Heights 212, Bellmont 229, Carroll 230, Northridge 257, Homestead 260, Warsaw 266, West Noble 282, Mount Vernon 297, FW North 326, Mishawaka 339, Whitko 406, Yorktown 439, Norwell 456, Muncie South 461 and Delta 526.
Tyler Wynn of Goshen, running as an individual, finished 12th in 16:42.38 to qualify for next Saturday’s state finals.
James Martin of Carroll was the individual winner in 15:55.54, followed by Nathan Hendershot of Pendleton Heights in 16:03.7, Ross Ochs of Huntington in 16:25.71 and Bradley Hess of Carroll in 16:26.37.
Daniel Zelaya of Concord was fifth in 16:33.23.
Other MInutemen are Brian Willoughby 14th in 16:43.59, Todd Dion 32nd in 17:07.37, Andrew Witkowski 36th in 17:12.4 and Jarred Fair 49th in 17:25.59.
Northridge placed Trevor Moore 10th in 16:37.53, Cody Welty 37th in 17:13.84, Tyler Beachy 87th in 17:58.33, Taylor Purviance 88th in 17:56.84, Mitchell Eby 91st in 17:58.69 and Marshall Hawn 92nd in 17:59.02.
West Noble had Joseph Landeros 31st in 17:05.89, Kevin Handshoe 47th in 17:22.85, Matt Price 63rd in 17:36.36 and Jonathan Weimer 80th in 18:00.81.
Austin Wenger of NorthWood was 34th in 17:10.22, Kyle Baker of Westview 38th in 17:14.73 and Jordan Johnson of Elkhart Central 42nd in 17:18.59.
