Bruins receive fall awards

Athletes in fall sports at Bethany Christian High School were honored during an awards ceremony Tuesday.

Tony Miller received a plaque for his support of Bethany athletics. He has served as girls soccer announcer, boys soccer scorekeeper, girls basketball announcer, boys basketball scorekeeper and compiles statistics for teams.

Following are special award winners:

Boys Tennis



Ben Mast, co-most valuable, sportsmanship; Seth Krabill, co-most valuable; Austin Loucks, most improved; Blake Shetler, JV award.

Volleyball



Corine Alvarez, team player; Mandy Schlabach, hustle award; Lexi Kantz, mental attitude; Marla zumFelde, coach’s award; Kate Steury, sportsmanship; Maria Thomas, JV team player;

Girls Soccer



Emma Caskey, offensive most valuable; Sharisse Yoder, midfield most valuable; Karli Graybill, defensive most valuable; Kelly Snyder, sportsmanship; Paige Wheeler, most improved.

Cross Country



Ben Hochstetler, most valuable; Leanne Hochstetler, co-sportsmanship; Luis Lopez, co-sportsmanship.

Boys Soccer



Femi Hollinger-Janzen, offensive most valuable; Aaron Stiffney, defensive most valuable; Ben Bontrager, most improved; Jesse Ramer, leadership; JD Nafziger, sportsmanship; Cory Bowman, JV most valuable.
