PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Area players prominent on All-NECC first team

Lantz, Scott earn nods for Warriors; Aspy, Bontrager and Miller for Warriors

GOSHEN — Two Fairfield Falcons and three Westview Warriors were among the players selected to the All-NECC boys basketball team for 2012-13.

Brad Lantz and Garrett Scott represent the Falcons while Chandler Aspy, Jordyn Bontrager and Kyle Miller represent the Warriors.

Drew Schermerhorn and Nick Thomas of West Noble and Spencer Mortola of Lakeland were also first-team selections. Others were Simon Brown and Justin Davis of Angola, Alex Vice of Central Noble, Brent Simmons of Churubusco, Jayden Lilly of Eastside, Casey Rote of Hamilton and Jacob Heller of Prairie Heights.

Honorable mention honors went to Nick Raber of Westview, Phil Miller of West Noble, PJ Dean of Eastside, Alex Beams, Austin Corcimiglia and Tyler Jenkins of Fremont.

Westview finished the conference season with a 10-0 record, followed by West Noble 8-2, Fairfield 7-3, Eastside, Fremont and Prairie Heights all 6-4; Angola 4-6, Churubusco and Lakeland both 3-7, Central Noble and Hamilton both 1-9.
