VIDEO: Fire Destroys Storage Barn
Ten Elkhart Township firefighters responded to a fire at a storage shed at the home of Steve Borzeniatow, 20204 C.R. 19, at 11:34 a.m. Friday.
No one was at home when the fire broke out and the building was a total loss, according to firefighter Doug Gadsen. Firefighters used about 4,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters from nearby Jefferson Township responded with a tanker truck, but were not needed and returned to their station.
The building, which was about 20-by-30 feet with a lean-to, contained tools, a boat and lawnmower.

1,400 Lose Their Job as Monaco Coach Corp. Closes
Monaco Coach Corp. announced to 1,400 employees the closure of production plants. Some of those employees joined their co-workers at area bars and restaurants to talk about the bad news. Five-year employee Todd McKibben shared his perspective at Hunter's Hideaway in Nappanee and 5-year employee Donna Sharp talked while at Raymond's Restaurant and Lounge in Wakarusa.

Fun At The Splash Pad
Kids in north Goshen don't have to travel to the Shanklin Park public pool for water recreation. The newly constructed "Splash Pad" in Walnut Park soaks kids with jets, showers and buckets of water.
