VIDEO: Fire Destroys Storage Barn
Ten Elkhart Township firefighters responded to a fire at a storage shed at the home of Steve Borzeniatow, 20204 C.R. 19, at 11:34 a.m. Friday.

No one was at home when the fire broke out and the building was a total loss, according to firefighter Doug Gadsen. Firefighters used about 4,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters from nearby Jefferson Township responded with a tanker truck, but were not needed and returned to their station.

The building, which was about 20-by-30 feet with a lean-to, contained tools, a boat and lawnmower.

No one was hurt. Firefighters left the scene at 1:15 p.m.

1,400 Lose Their Job as Monaco Coach Corp. Closes Monaco Coach Corp. announced to 1,400 employees the closure of production plants. Some of those employees joined their co-workers at area bars and restaurants to talk about the bad news.
