Robert Owens

LIGONIER — Robert Owens, 69, died Thursday at his residence.

He was born Oct. 5, 1940 in Leburn, Ky., to Keen and Esther (Reynolds) Owens.

He married Judy Hall in 1962. He lived in Columbus from 1962 to 1972 and in Ligonier since 1972. He worked in the manufactured housing industry for more than 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family, whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his son, Robert Brian (Janell) Owens, LaOtto; grandsons, Alex Paul and Connor Robert, both at home in LaOtto; mother, Esther Owens, Ligonier; sister, Gladys Shepherd, Ligonier; and two brothers, Keenis (Linda) Owens, Ligonier; and Buford (Mavis) Owens, Stanton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, who died in 1972; and his father Keen, who died in 1952.

Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier; and Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Home, 619 Hindman Bypass, Hindman, Ky.

The funeral service will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hindman Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Hall family cemetery at the mouth of Trace in Knott County, Ky.
