MILFORD — Sarah A. Slabaugh, 97, died Friday at Lakeland Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford.

She was born Dec. 13, 1912 in Bremen to John and Barbara Gerber.

She married Roman Slabaugh, who preceded her in death.

Sarah was a clerk at various Milford retail businesses, a cook at Milford High School, a duck farmer and a homemaker. She was a member of the Milford Sewing Circle and North Main Street Mennonite Church in Nappanee, and was also a 4-H leader.

She is survived by three daughters, Delores (Donald) Boyd, Sebring, Fla., Shirley (Roger) Graff, Fort Wayne, and Patricia (John) Yeater, Chandler, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie (Crist) Miller, Goshen, and Katherine (Eldon) Herrli, Elkhart.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; son Larry Slabaugh; daughter Gloria Baumgartner; son-in-law Roger Graff; sister Drusilla (Eli) Yoder; and three brothers, Valentine, Floyd and Mose Gerber.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Tuesday at North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee. Ruben Chupp and Bob Gerber will lead the service.

Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the North Main Street Mennonite Church.
