Russell C. Drudge

April 5, 1929-March 12, 2013

GOSHEN — Russell C. Drudge, 83, Goshen died Tuesday at 5:20 a.m. at Courtyard Healthcare Goshen. He was born April 5, 1929 in Elkhart to Russell LeRoy Drudge and Dorotha (Frederick) Drudge.

On Dec. 24, 1951 he married Mary Alice (Overholser) Drudge. She died on March 12, 2002.

He is survived by one daughter; Sandy Bates, Goshen; two sons, Mark Drudge, Cortez, Colo., and Michael (Susan) Drudge, Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Sharon (David) Barnett, Beebee, Ark., and Marilyn (Merritt) Culp, Wakarusa; two brothers, Paul (Shirley) Drudge, Page, Ariz., and Casey (Marilyn) Drudge, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Delbert, Larry and Forrest Drudge; and one sister, Isabelle Drake.

Russell served in the Korean War and was discharged in 1952.

He worked at Starcraft Boat for 39 years.

He was a member of Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed garden tilling on his International tractor, where he tilled over 3,000 gardens in his life. He took great pride in his garden and leaf mulch. He loved his Hereford cows and his farm.

He also enjoyed watching cattle sales on television. Russell also had a great love of bluegrass music.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Sunday at Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. The services will be officiated by the Rev. Jeff Estepp and the Rev. Mark Bendes.

Burial will take place at Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Good Neighbor Food Pantry, part of First Brethren Church, New Paris.
