TOPEKA — Ella J. Hostetler, 77, died at 10:05 a.m. Friday at her residence.
She was born March 29, 1935 in Topeka, Kan., to Joni B. and Polly (Troyer) Miller.
On Jan. 13, 1955, she married Orva O. Hostetler in LaGrange County. He died Nov. 6, 2010. She is survived by her six sons, Marvin Ray (Esther) Hostetler of Ligonier, Wilbur Lee (Susie) Hostetler, Calvin (Mary) Hostetler and Larry (Susan) Hostetler, all of Topeka, David (Barbara) Hostetler of Millersburg, and Orva Jr. (Rosemary) Hostetler of Topeka; four daughters, Lizzie Mae (Elmer) Yoder and Fern (Gerald) Raber, both of Shipshewana, Elva (Richard) Lehman of LaGrange and Nettie (Daniel) Frey of Topeka; 77 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; three sisters, her twin, Elva (Vernon) Weaver of Shipshewana, Anna Miller of Cambria, Wis., and Susie (Clarence) Schlabach of Dalton, Wis.; and sister-in-law, Edna (Mahlon) Bontrager of Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two grandchildren, Joe Dean and Kristina Hostetler; great-grandchild, Joe Dean Yoder; three brothers, David, Christy and Ray Miller; and a sister, Minnie Bontrager.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Friends may call all day today at the family residence, 8490 W. 650 South, Shipshewana, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Services will be conducted by Bishop Glen Lambright.
Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.
