SARASOTA, Fla. — Marylin Joyce Schwartz, 68, died Tuesday.
She was born Sept. 1, 1943, to Mildred (Boyer) and Daniel Mast.
She married Eli J. Schwartz Dec. 30, 1962. Together they raised 16 children to adulthood and took care of countless others that needed love and guidance in a world that would have discarded them. Whenever there was a child in need she would open her arms, her home and her heart. It didn’t matter if they were with her for a day, a year or the rest of their lives, she gave them all love as though her blood flowed through their veins. There was never a distinction between which were adopted, fostered or came from her womb. They were all HER children and to all of them she was “Mom.”
She is survived by her husband Eli Schwartz; sons, Lavon Schwartz of Bremerton, Wash., Jeff Schwartz of Sarasota, Lynn Schwartz of Bradenton, Kevin Schwartz of Sarasota, Jason Schwartz of Auburn, Ind., Joe Schwartz and Nathan Schwartz, both of Sarasota; daughters, Marylin Schwartz of Sarasota, Pamela Schwartz of Bradenton, Jill Schwartz of Sarasota, Jennifer Garcia of Houston, Texas, Jade Schwartz of Sarasota, Nina Schwartz of Lakeland, Angela McGuigan of Westerly, R.I. and Alysia Schwartz of Bradenton.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Schwartz of Bradenton.
Viewing will be followed by a funeral service Saturday at noon at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, 4041 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota, which will be followed by a fellowship meal. Upon completion of the meal at approximately 2:45 p.m., those who wish to may travel to Marylin’s final resting place, arriving approximately 3:15 p.m. to say their final farewells at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave. East, Ellenton, FL 34222.
