Ruben Mullet

GOSHEN —  Ruben Mullet, 89, died early Thursday morning at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He had been ill the past year.

He was born Dec. 23, 1923 in Nappanee, to Daniel D. and Celesta (Hochstetler) Mullet.

He married Emma Schrock Feb. 12, 1955, in Elkhart. She survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia (Michael) Merrick, Marietta, Ga.; three sons, Dana and Steven (Kerry) Mullet, both of Goshen, and James (Annette) Mullet, Westfield; six grandchildren, Tony, Greg, Jeff and Jason Merrick and Leslie and Alex Mullet; two stepgrandsons, Derek and Connor Cameron; four sisters, Lucyann Miller and Martha (Albert) Miller, both of Middlefield, Ohio, Amelia Byler, Stoneboro, Pa., and Soloma Mullet, Mercer, Pa.; and two brothers, Alvin Mullet, Shipshewana, and William (Emma) Mullet, Mercer, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Jean Merrick; a sister, Elva Glick; and four brothers, Uri, Simon, Jerry and Jesse Mullet.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Mullet was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church. He worked for NIBCO in the Elkhart foundry for 41 years before retiring in 1989.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Goshen. The Revs. Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate.

A private family burial will precede the memorial service at Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
