Catherine J. Zurek

GOSHEN — Catherine J. Zurek, 60, of Goshen, died at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1952 in Chicago, Ill, to Chester and Rose (Budy) Kroll.

On Aug. 19, 1972 in Holly Cross Cathedral, Chicago she married Thomas Zurek, he survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are two daughters, Amanda (Sean Cleland) Zurek, Goshen, and Jaclyn (Aaron) Irions, Bristol; a son, Victor (Joanna) Zurek, Goshen; three grandchildren; her mother, Rose Kroll, Elkhart; a sister, Rose Conroy, Winfield, Ill; and her special companion, the family pet, Bosco.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Cathy, with her husband, was the founder and operator of Tape Technology and Panel Solutions of Elkhart. She received her Bachelors of Art degree in education and was an artist having painted one of the “ELKS” for the Elkhart County Elks on Parade” for CAPS.

Cathy was an artist, animal lover and she enjoyed spending time in Florida and Chicago with her family and friends. She had also worked for The Truth newspaper as a special event coordinator.

A time of remembrance will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main St., Middlebury.

Memorials may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society or St. Thomas the Apostle School, Elkhart. Online condolences may be sent at millerstewartfuneralhome.com.
