SYRACUSE —
DeVon Umbenhour, 94, 500 E. Pickwick Drive, formerly of Miami, Fla., died Tuesday at 1:30 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
He was born March 21, 1918 in Elkhart County, to Otis Dale and Gertrude (Wentz) Umbenhour Binkley.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol (Dana) Kauffman and Barbara (Richard) Longcor, both of Millersburg, Kenneth (Sharon) Hapner, Bozeman, Montana, and Dennis (Cherri) Hapner, Syracuse; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Hapner.
He graduated from New Paris High School and South Bend Business College. He worked as a bookkeeper.
Graveside services will take place Friday at 2 p.m. at Baintertown Cemetery. The Rev. John Randolph of People’s Bible Church will officiate.
