Vernon S. Plank

Vernon S. Plank, 62, of Goshen, died at 1:42 am on Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Mishawaka. He had been in failing health for the past four years.

He had lived most of his life in Millersburg, moving to Goshen two years ago.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1950 in Plain City, Ohio, to Samuel J and Katie (Kauffman) Plank.

On Aug. 21, 1971, he married Darlene Cross; she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Steven (Kari) Plank of Lewiston, Idaho, Matthew (Ruth) Plank of South Bend, Joshua Plank of Goshen, Luke Plank of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Damen Neff, Savannah Neff, Cloe Plank, Asher Plank, Ella Plank and Josiah Plank; a sister, Clara Miller of Orfordville, Wis.; three brothers, Eli (Katherine) Plank, Alfred (Rose) Plank and Sam Jr. (Connie) Plank, all of Plain City, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

He was a member of Forks Mennonite Church, enjoyed volunteering for the Mennonite Disaster Service, having gone on several trips and his favorite hobby was woodworking. He worked most of his life in the RV industry.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Forks Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by the Revs. Eugene Bontrager and Phil Yoder.

Memorials may be given to Miller-Stewart Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
