Wilma Fern Herschberger

Dec. 23, 1929-July 8, 2012

GOSHEN —  Wilma Fern Herschberger, 82, died at 1:47 a.m. Sunday at her home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929 in Elkhart County, to Christian and Elizabeth (Miller) Troyer. On Sept. 23, 1951 in Middlebury she married Henry A. Herschberger. He survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Christena (Courtney) Stump, Goshen; four sons, Larry (Mary) Herschberger, Middlebury, Hank (Melody) Herschberger and Wes (Janelle) Herschberger, both of Goshen, and Titus Herschberger, Central City, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Amy Bontrager, Ella Miller and Sue Bontrager; and five brothers, Ora D., Lester, Owen, Leroy and Cephas Troyer.

A lifetime area resident, Wilma enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and traveling when she could. She was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church and Gideon’s Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Town & Country Appliances in Goshen working there for over 25 years.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, Goshen. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, also at Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ben Shirk. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
