Betty A. Bell

WAKARUSA —  Betty A. Bell, 88, died Sunday at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.

She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Atlanta, Ga. to John Thomas and Mamie (Lunsford) King.

She married Ralph E. Bell on Jan. 1, 1944, in Atlanta. He preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1991.

She served as a homemaker, and she was a member of Wakarusa Missionary Church, where she participated in Sunday school class. She also attended Columbia Bible College, in Columbia, S.C.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dr. Daniel G. (Margaret L.) Hammond, of Hartford City, Ind.; three sons, Michael G. Bell, of Rowlett, Texas, Daniel L. (Dr. Maria Robles) Bell of Redlands, Calif., and Steven B. (Rebecca) Bell of Wakarusa; one sister, Sarah Warff, of Humble, Texas; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Rieth-Rohrer-Ehert-Lienhart Funeral Home in Wakarusa.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Matt Yoder will officiate.

She will be buried at Olive Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to Wakarusa Missionary Church.
