Larry L. Jones

May 17, 1936-Feb. 6, 2010

VENICE, Fla. — Larry Lewis Jones, age 73, of Venice, FL died on Feb. 6, 2010. He was born in Summitville, Ind. on May 17, 1936, and came to the Venice area in 2005 from Goshen, Ind.

He retired in 1996 from Reith-Riley Construction in Goshen where he served as treasurer and secretary of the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Goshen Rotary, Jaycees, Elks and Kiwanis Clubs. Mr. Jones enjoyed boating and all sports and he was an avid Indiana University basketball fan.

Surviving family members include his wife, Lenora, of Venice; daughters Lisa Hubartt of North Port, and Laura Griffin of Columbus, Ohio; son Logan of Naples: sisters Bertha Woodruff of Corpus Christi, Texas, and M. “Peg” Cochran of Bothell, Wash.; brother Norman of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 69, Venice, Fla. 34284 or the American Cancer Society, 2801 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota, Fla. 34237.
