Louetta J. Sims

GOSHEN — Louetta Jane Sims, 95, passed away at 6:02 a.m. Saturday at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.

She was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Argos, to Paul and Pauline (Guthrie) Corey.

On Sept. 7, 1935, in Knox, she married Lester E. Sims. He preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1996, in Elkhart. Her sisters, Helen Rodgers and Hannah Rock; and a brother, Eugene Corey, also preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Ronald E. (Sandra) Sims, Cromwell; a daughter, Diana Kay Shea, Dequincy, La.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Clara Cogswell, North Webster, and Betty Gotsch, Fort Wayne; a brother, Paul “Pete” (Daina) Corey, Knox; a sister-in-law, Beverly Corey, Knox; and many special nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank all of the nurses and staff at Greencroft Healthcare and Goshen Home Care and Hospice for their loving and wonderful care given to her during her stay there.

Louetta was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart and a member of the Quarter Century Club at CTS where she was employed for many years. She loved sewing and gardening and in her younger years made dolls out of apples.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home care & Hospice.
