Ruby J. Bell

July 7, 1929-Jan. 17, 2013

SYRACUSE —  Ruby J. Bell, 83, died Thursday at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.

She was born July 7, 1929 in Huntington, to Rue and Goldie (Feightner) Hunnicutt.

On July 2, 1949, she married Richard Bell, who died in 2003.  

She was a lifelong area resident and retired from the Syracuse Post Office.

She is survived by her three sons, Richard (Vickie) Bell, Texas, Robert Bell, Florida, and Rodney (Nancy) Bell, Syracuse; daughter, Rhonda (Scott) Freeman, Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Redding, Bluffton, Eva Schliesser and Lucille (C.R.) Hewes, both of Florida; and a brother, Max Hunnicutt, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.

There will be one hour of calling prior to the 2 p.m. service Sunday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. The Rev. Ray Olson will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Food Pantry or the Syracuse Animal Hospital.
