Mary C. Valentine

ELKHART — Mary C. Valentine, 83, passed away at Greenleaf Assisted Living Center Friday at 8:15 a.m.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1929 in New Braunfels, Texas to Ray and Zela (Kempf) Bauer.

She married Ray Valentine June 20, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1986.

She is survived by her three children, Cynthia (John) Swoveland of New Paris, Rhonda (Randy) Doering of West Chester, Ohio, and Ronald (Cindy) Valentine of Bristol. Also surviving are four grandchildren and a sister, Theresa Martin of LaPorte. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bauer.

Mary enjoyed golfing for more than 40 years and was a member of the 4 Arts Club, the Elks at Christiana Creek Country Club, and the 18-hole club. She was also a member of the Fun Timers and of Dunlap United Methodist Church.

The family will receive visitors Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart, where funeral services will take place Monday at 10 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
