Shoplifting suspect flees from store

— Goshen police were called to Kohls department store, 3802 Midway Road, at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday when a shoplifting was reported. The suspect fled in a black Pontiac Grand Prix. A police report was made about the incident.

• A Walmart asset protection officer reported to Goshen police on Tuesday that a suspect stole a laptop computer at 2304 Lincolnway East early in the morning on May 23.

• An employee of Goshen Community Schools reported to city police that there was a burglary at Merit Learning Center sometime Tuesday night. The learning center is at 801 W. Wilkinson St.

 • Goshen police received a report Wednesday from Cassandra Wagner, 22, 622 E. Lincoln Ave., that her home was burglarized this week. A case report was made by police.  

• An employee of Blockbuster Video, 223 Chicago Ave., reported to Goshen police that a woman stole a DVD movie from the store at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Traffic arrests

• Goshen police reported the arrest of Veronica Cortez-Herrera, 23, Goshemn, after a traffic stop at the 1700 block of Bashor Road. The driver was cited for driving while never receiving a license and was released.

• According to a sheriff’s department report, Luis Moreno, 48, was stopped at Ind. 15 and C.R. 46 at 2:40 a.m. Thursday for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested on a charge of driving while never receiving a license. He was booked into the county jail. Bond was set at $1,500.

Drug/alcohol arrests

• Goshen police reported the arrest of Katherine Chung Cho, 22, Owings Mills, Md., after she was found sitting in the street at Third Street and Lincoln Avenue at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday.  She was cited for public intoxication and was booked into the county jail. Bond was set at $1,500.
