Treva Kintner

TOPEKA — Treva Kintner, 92, died Wednesday at Emeritus at Conway in Orlando, Fla.

She was born April 27, 1920, in Topeka, to Elizabeth May (Burns) and Adrian Bowman Carpenter.

She married Loren D. Kintner on Aug. 25, 1946 at Rock Run Church of the Brethren in Goshen.

She received her bachelors degree from Manchester University in 1944 and her masters from the University of Missouri. She was a home economics professor at the University of Missouri in Colombia, Mo.

She was an active member of many professional organizations. She was also a member of Phi Upsilan Omicron, through which she established several student scholarships.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan Kintner of Orlando; and her son, David (Diane) Kintner of Granville, Ohio; her granddaughter, Erin Kintner of Kent State University; and her sisters, Dorothy Huber of Goshen, Sarah Nulf of California, Ruth Myers of Goshen and Carol Garber of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Josephine Detwiler, Bill Carpenter, Mary Leer, Donald Carpenter, Roy Carpenter, Bruce Carpenter and Joy Wood.

The funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Rock Run Church of the Brethren, and she will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Rev. Timothy Waits of Rock Run Church of the Brethren will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rock Run Cemetery in Goshen.
